WTVA, an NBC and ABC affiliate, first signed on in 1957 as WTWV and today reaches more than 189,000 households in northern Mississippi and parts of western Alabama.

WTVA is recognized as a leader in local news coverage. WTVA 9 News has received numerous journalism awards and is regularly honored by the Mississippi Associated Press Broadcasters for excellence in reporting, writing and photography. Honors received also include the best newscast, best weathercast and best sportscast. WTVA 9 News has also been nominated by the National Academy for Television Arts and Sciences for the prestigious Emmy Award in multiple categories. Ratings continue to confirm the high popularity of WTVA 9 News with north Mississippians and western Alabamians.
